The contribution from the Scandinavian far right – the Danish People’s Party (DF) and the Sweden Democrats (SD) – to Salvini's alliance, the European Alliance of People and Nations, is likely to be very small. In short, because DF is losing support and because SD is uninterested in joining.

De populistiske høyrepartiene i Europa kjennetegnes av en ideologi preget av mistillit mot de politiske elitene. Denne partifamilien har de siste tiårene gradvis fått mer makt og gått fra å befinne seg i utkanten av det politiske landskapet, til å ha makt ved å sitte i regjering.  Fersk doktor i statsvitenskap ved Universitetet i Oslo Atle Hennum Haugsgjerd har funnet ut at høyrepopulistiske partiers inntreden i regjering bygger politisk tillit blant deres støttespillere.

The Act imposed a legal duty on several public bodies, including higher education institutions (HEIs), to “have due regard to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism”, a requirement referred to as the Prevent Duty.
