OSIRIS har gjennomført et større forskningsprosjekt om hvordan ansatte i staten bruker forskning. Rapporten er resultatet fra en spørreundersøkelse hvor til sammen 1900 ansatte i departementer og andre statlige forvaltningsorganer har bidratt.

Økt satsing på forskning og utvikling (FoU) i Norge gir økt produktivitet ved at foretakene blir flinkere til å høste av andres kunnskap både nasjonalt og internasjonalt. Det bidrar til økt produksjon, reallønn og konsum i Norge på lang sikt.
Politiske beslutninger forventes å være basert på kunnskap. Og denne kunnskapen er det forvaltningen som har jobben med å innhente. Men holder det å spørre en kollega når man skal skaffe seg oversikt over kunnskapen på området man jobber med?

Taran Thune and Magnus Gulbrandsen from the OSIRIS team have published an article in the European Journal of Innovation Management on the idea generation process in life science. Based on a data set of disclosed inventions to the technology transfer office Inven2, it is found that combined knowledge from basic research and clinical settings seems particularly important for life science invention. Such combinations appear in different ways. The article can be found here.
