NORCIE researcher Christian Traeger co-organized the CESifo workshop Green Energy Transition and the Role of Energy in the Macroeconomy in Venice, bringing together economists working on energy modelling, technological change, macroeconomic growth, and climate policy. The workshop connects closely to NORCIE’s research on Climate Change and International Economic Interdependencies, examining how the transition away from fossil fuels affects economic production and growth and how national climate and energy policies interact through technological and economic spillovers. Among the research presented was joint work by NORCIE researchers Gaute Hjerpaasen and Christian Traeger on the climate implications of regional technology spillovers.
