Each year, the Department of Economics holds a workshop where PhD candidates in the third semester of the programme present their research. The workshop serves as a mid-term evaluation in accordance with § 4 of the PhD Regulations on quality assurance.
The workshop aims to encourage an early start on the dissertation and give candidates experience in presenting their research to a wider audience. External opponents are invited to discuss the presentations and provide feedback.
Attendance is compulsory for third-semester candidates and their supervisors. Other PhD candidates and staff members are also welcome to attend.
The 2026 PhD workshop will take place on 10 November.
