The Erik Kempe Award is awarded biannually by the University of Umeå, Sweden, in collaboration with the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, to the best paper within environmental and resource economics written by an author affiliated with a European institution and published in a refereed journal during the preceeding two years.
