Panopto
Panopto is UiO’s solution for recording, storing and sharing teaching videos. It can be used both for recordings and live webcasts.
Tips before recording
To achieve the best possible recording quality, it is a good idea to plan the structure, audio and video before you begin.
Structure and organisation
- Consider splitting the lecture into two recordings. This makes it easier to edit and navigate afterwards.
- Use clear and consistent names for your recordings.
- Cannot find your recording? Check that it has not been saved in the wrong folder, such as “My Folder”.
Camera and video
- Consider the camera angle and whether you will be standing or sitting.
- You can choose to turn off the camera if it is not needed.
- When using a document camera, select high quality (“High”) for better resolution.
Audio
- Check that the correct microphone is selected.
- Speak clearly and use the microphone correctly.
- Repeat questions from the audience so that they are included in the recording.
PowerPoint and screen sharing
- Select the correct screen or presentation before you start recording.
- Use the preview to check what is shown to students.
