The TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture is responsible for the Work Package AI and Society. The Norwegian Research Center for AI Innovation (NorwAI) is a hub for research on data-driven AI and big data, funded by its partners and the Research Council of Norway through the scheme for Research-based Innovation (SFI). Today, AI has an impact on almost all aspects of our society. Data-driven AI, where systems learn and gradually improve by analyzing large amounts of data, has led to dramatic improvements in language processing and image analysis and enabled automation in personalization and decision support. Notions of responsibility, trustworthiness and sustainability are central to AI development. NorwAI is hosted by the Department of Computer Science, NTNU (https://www.ntnu.edu/idi).
