Tabea Krauter is a PhD fellow at the Policy and Society Department, Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in Karlsruhe (Germany). She is a guest researcher at the TIK Centre the autumn semester 2026.
I do my PhD about the societal relevance of universities, by looking at knowledge transfer between universities and society, mainly in the German context. As I am about to write the framework of my dissertation, I am very much interested in the situations in other European countries and the extent to which I can generalise my findings. I studied Political Science at the University of Mannheim, and spent a semester at the NTNU in Trondheim. After completing my Bachelor's degree, I joined the Master program in Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz, and spent some time at the University of Guelph (Canada). I worked in market research for two years, and I joined the Department of Policy and Society at Fraunhofer in November 2023.
