Emosjonell utvikling hos barn og unge; inkludert tidlig utvikling av emosjoner og empati, emosjonsregulering og emosjonelle vansker.

Emosjonell kompetanse hos barn og deres foreldre, og emosjonell kompetanse hos lærere i barneskolen - inkludert emosjonsfokuserte foreldre- og lærerveiledningsintervensjoner. 

Temperament og personlighet hos barn og unge; inkludert stabilitet og endring av ulike temperamentstrekk, hva som påvirker til endring og hvordan temperament/personlighet henger sammen psykisk helse.

Angst- og depresjonssymptomer hos barn og unge; både utvikling og endring i symptomnivå og hva som bidrar til utvikling av slike symptomer.

Generelt psykisk helse hos barn og unge; inkludert hva som bidrar til både utagerende og emosjonelle vansker hos barn og unge gjennom oppveksten og hvordan forebygge negativ utvikling.

Bakgrunn

Evalill Bølstad (tidl. Karevold) prosjektleder for Norwegian Tuning in to Kids (N-TIK), et prosjekt som inkluderer en pilotstudie og en RCT effektvitetsstudie av et intervensjonsprogram for foreldre til førskolebarn. Hun er også prosjektleder for TIK i Skolen (TIKiS), et prosjekt i samarbeid med Utdanningetaten og Helseetaten i Oslo kommune, som skal utvikle og evaluere en intervensjon som fremmer emosjonell kompetanse blant lærere og elever i skolen, samt en pilotstudie, N-TIK Skolepilot, som inkluderer veiledning av lærere på barneskoler i Grorud og Stovner bydel i Oslo.

Bølstad er også prosjektleder for TOPP-studien (Trivsel og oppvekst, barndom og ungdomstid), en longitudinell studie som undersøker utviklingsveier til både psykiske plager og god psykisk helse hos barn og deres familier fra barna var halvannet år og foreløpig til 18-19 årsalderen.

Bølstad har tidligere arbeidet som forsker ved forskningsavdelingen på R-BUP, region øst og sør, samt som forsker og stedfortredende avdelingsdirektør ved avdeling for barn og unge, divisjon for psykisk helse, Nasjonalt folkehelseinstitutt. Hun har erfaring fra klinisk arbeid med barn, unge og deres familier ved Ullevål BUPA og sped- og småbarnsavdelingen ved Nic Waals institutt.

Utdannet psykolog ved Universitetet i Oslo, hvor doktorgraden "Emotional problems in childhood and adolescence: Predictors, pathways and underlying structure" ble forsvart i 2008.
