I my doctorate project, I am working on mapping the various ways in which people's emotional reactions to the ecological crisis are understood and defined in the psychological literature. Specifically, I am looking at how climate-, and eco-anxiety is understood and discussed among young people, on social media, and on the news. In my empirical work, I am interested in illustrating how the ways in which climate change is talked about, and how it makes people feel, have implications for how individuals understand themselves and their possibilities for action. I primarily use qualitative methods, such as focus group interviews, digital ethnography, and critical discourse analysis, and I am very interested in creative and critical approaches.
