PhD project
In my PhD project, I investigate how people draw on memories of the past and visions of the future to motivate political engagement in the present.
Using qualitative (interviews, observations) and quantitative (experiments, longitudinal) data from multiple countries, I study why some people disengage while others participate in normative, non-normative, or extreme forms of political action in response to major societal challenges such as climate change, gender inequality, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
