Documentation

On this page we provide documentation on the operationalization of the scheme, as well as additional information about spesific research articles that apply the scheme (e.g. do-files, exel files, additional analyses etc..).

Note that there is different versions of the scheme. This is due to varying amounts of background information in the datasets we apply. E.g., register data from 2003 use occupational codes based on a norwegian version of the isco-88-codes; STYRK, whereas NYK-codes (Nordisk yrkesklassifisering; "Nordic Occupational Classification) are used in versions from 1970 and 1980.

General register data version

Here you will find exel files and do-files that document the operationalization of the current version of the scheme.

O(r)DC and survey data

The following SPSS-syntax examplifies how the ORDC scheme can be adjusted to survey data as the ISSP and ESS, which usually contain ISCO-88-codes.

Spatial class divisions

(Ljunggren & Andersen, unpublished)

In this article two different versions of the class scheme are applied. For the year 2003 we apply a version of the scheme that is identical to the "general register data version" described above. For 1970 and 1980 we apply the following coding:
