Three researchers from different departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences at UiO will share insights into their current projects, each demonstrating the practical applications of AI and machine learning in their respective fields:
- Thomas Espeseth, Professor at the Department of Psychology: "Discover how AI can be used to manipulate the memorability of text"
- Martin Søyland, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Political Science: "Learn about the application of large language models to classify questions in the Norwegian Parliament"
- Manudeep Bhuller, Professor at the Department of Economics: "Explore the use of Bayesian adaptive choice experiments in survey elicitation to understand individuals' work preferences"
Baked goods, coffee, and tea will be served from 08:30 am.
The workshop is open to all scientific staff at the Faculty of Social Sciences at UiO. The Working Group for the Use of AI in Research at the faculty look forward to seeing you there and hope to engage you in a discussion on the future of AI in social science research.
This is primarily a physical workshop where the participants can engage in a discussion with the speakers, but the event will be streamed for those who would like to watch the event.
