The research project Shipping Off Labour: Changing Staffing Strategies in Globalised Workplaces (ShipGlobal) studies the past decades’ developments in migration, offshoring and international supply chains in Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland and Romania from a comparative perspective. In this workshop the research team will present and compare the project findings on developments in shipbuilding production and staffing practices, working conditions and labour relations in each country. We want to discuss with key stakeholders in the shipbuilding industry how to respond to current challenges in shipbuilding and future strategies for a sustainable and equitable shipbuilding industry. At the event we will distribute policy briefs and working papers on the project findings. The research for this project is financed by The Research Council of Norway

At the seminar there will be translation into: English, French, Polish and Italian.
