Ingjerd Hoëm er professor ved Sosialantropologisk institutt og prodekan for undervisning på Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultet ved Universitetet i Oslo. Hun forsker på kommunikasjon, politisk endring og arbeid.

Faglige interesseområder

Tematisk: Rituell kommunikasjon, identifikasjon og rom, lingvistisk antropologi, sosial organisasjon, fjerde verden/urbefolkning.

Regionalt: Polynesia inkludert diaspora. Hoëm har utført feltarbeid i Tokelau, Samoa, New Zealand og på Salomonøyene.
