Workshop on Computational Psychology

This workshop introduces you to the emerging field of Computational Psychology which bridges Computer Science and Psychology. It shows how computer science methods (algorithms) can be used to understand, model, predict, and even influence human thought and behaviour.

Recent technological advances in machine learning and AI have also opened up new opportunities for conducting psychological research and gaining insights into human thought and behaviour. For example, automated text analysis can be used to track the spread of negative emotions on social media. Or machine learning can be used to identify which genes are associated with psychological traits.

This workshop will walk you through some of these methods to show you what is currently possible, how different computational methods work, what (coding) skills you need to apply them yourself, and where you can start learning them.

So, if you are a psychologist who likes programming, or if you are curious about futuristic methods and AI in psychology, this workshop is for you!

No prior knowledge is required.
