I am a doctoral research fellow at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo. I am employed at the Centre for Global Sustainability (GLOBE) and a member of the research project REPLACE: Meat replacement and systems of edibility in Asia and beyond. My research focuses on understanding how novel meat replacements are (or not) integrated into everyday lives and the food system.

Background
I hold an MSc in Management, Economics, and Consumer Studies from Wageningen University and a BSc in Agricultural and Resource Economics from The University of Tokyo. My master’s thesis examined the transition towards the planetary health diet through a comparative analysis between the Netherlands and Japan. I employed the Multi-Level Perspective and X-curve Model to evaluate both the exnovation of meat-centric food systems and the innovation of plant-based alternatives.
I also have diverse international working experience across the agri-food sector and international development. My experience includes managing a large-scale farm development project in Tanzania, coordinating development projects for the Embassy of Japan in Uganda, and handling global supply chains in Japan's agri-food industry.
