Academic Interests

Political geography with focus on democratization, citizenship conflicts in Southeast Asia. Research on the role of social movements in substantive democratization and conflict resolution. Empirical research focus on Burma/Myanmar, and prior research on Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and South Africa.
