The movie follows the relationship between Neptune and Matalusa, coltan miners whose love leads a hacker collective. Neptune Frost uses the musical genre to embrace oral tradition and song-poetry deep in the roots of African history and modern culture to express the complexity of the Rwandan identities explored in the film. The narrative structure unfolds through musical and rhetorical allegories that acknowledge themes of patriarchy and feminist science fiction literature.
A film by Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman, 2021.
