Bakgrunn

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow affiliated with PROMENTA’s research projects “Pathways into Marginalization” and “The Social Gradient in Mental Health”. I have a bit of a mixed background in sociology and public policy. My research interests are centered around the academic fields of sociology, organizational psychology, political economy, and quantitative methodology.

In 2020, I defended a doctoral dissertation entitled “Work orientations in contemporary advanced societies: Three comparative studies based on large-scale cross-national survey data” within the University of Bergen’s Department of Sociology. In 2019-2020, I also had the honor to be a visiting Fulbright researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Department of Sociology.

My postdoctoral project in PROMENTA has a strong micro-sociological and developmental focus. It predominantly relies on analyses of the “Young in Norway” survey panel and data from administrative registers. This project explores how work attitudes, values and aspirations from adolescence shape transitions to adulthood, with a specific focus on labor market attainment. I focus mostly on social status, job quality and subjective well-being and mental health.
