Håvar Brendryen er Cand. Polit. i psykologi fra NTNU i 2001, med spesialisering innen kognitiv psykologi og menneske-maskin interaksjon. Temaet for avhandlingen var navigering i kontrollsystemer og er skrevet i samarbeid med Avdeling for industripsykologi ved Institutt for energiteknikk. Han avla doktorgrad ved Psykologisk institutt, Universitetet i Oslo i 2009. Temaet for avhandlingen var Automatiserte røyesluttintervensjoner levert via internett og mobiltelefon. Her underviste og veiledet han innen helsepsykologi. Han har vært ansatt ved SERAF siden 2010.

Interesser, eHelse, helsepsykologi, atferdsendring, avhengighet, røykeslutt, tidligintervensjon for alkohol.

Han er spesielt interessert i internett- og telefonbaserte atferdsendringsprogrammer, med særlig fokus på virkemekanismene til denne behandlingsformen, inkludert tilbakefallsforebygging, glipphåndtering, og arbeidsallianse.

Prosjekter

Hovedveileder for

Doktorgradsstipendiat og master i psykologi, Marianne Therese Smogeli Holter. Marianne er tilknyttet røykesluttprosjektet finansiert av Norges forskningsråd. Hun har bidratt tungt inn i utviklingen av røykesluttprogrammet og vært førsteforfatter på en artikkel om utviklingen av og rasjonalet for programmet (publisert i 2016). Hun har også skrevet to artikler basert på dybdeintervjuer med brukere av programmet og en metodisk artikkel (disse er ikke publisert enda).
