Process outcomes: successful and unsuccessful courses of therapy.

Investigation of positive and negative courses of therapy. A process outcome investigation of both positive and negative courses of therapy with the same therapist is shown in interaction analysis` of 3, 12 and 20 therapy hours. 1. Stable and reciprocal hostility characterised negative courses of therapy in and across appointments in relation to positive courses, even though the occurrence of such interactions was low 2. Even though therapists attempted to avoid answering hostility with hostility, their own initiated hostility was influenced. 3. Rejection of therapist’s interventions escalated in negative progression and seems to have had a particularly negative impact on the therapist.
