Academic interests
I am an external Ph.D. candidate employed at Lovisenberg Diaconal Hospital and affiliated with the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo. With a background in sports medicine, I have a strong professional and personal commitment to understanding how physical activity can promote mental health and be applied more strategically within mental health care. My research focuses on how physical activity and exercise can be meaningfully integrated into treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
My doctoral project, MEME (Making Exercise interventions More Effective for depression and anxiety), investigates why and how physical activity and exercise serve as effective interventions for individuals with anxiety and depression, as well as why the effects vary between individuals. The aim of the project is to contribute to more precise and individually tailored exercise-based interventions within mental health services.
