Background
Krister Fjermestad is Dr. Psychol from the University of Bergen in 2012. His PhD is on the alliance in child anxiety treatment. His main areas of research are child anxiety, treatment process, and rare disorders. He is involved in a large randomized controlled trial at Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen, where 182 children were treated for anxiety in community clinics.
He holds a 20% position at Frambu center for rare disorders, involving research and liaison services for families of children with rare disorders.
Fjermestad has worked as a clinical child psychologist in several settings over the last decade, including the child in-patient unit at Haukeland University Hospital.
