In February, 2025 the Oslo Nuclear Project hosted several online seminars and in-person panels.
In a panel featuring Prof. Janne Matlary and co-hosted by the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA) Norway, ONP speakers discussed the implications of the current war in Ukraine and potential avenues forward. Drawing on relevant academic and policy research, the panel outlined both challenges and opportunities for Ukraine.

In an online seminar, Ankit Panda discussed the release of his latest book, "The New Nuclear Age: At the Precipice of Armageddon." With discussant Reja Younis (CSIS) Ankit argued the world is entering a new nuclear age. Nuclear weapons are returning to the fore of international statecraft in ways unseen since the Cold War. With major powers like Russia issuing threats of nuclear strikes, China and North Korea continuing to grow their arsenals, and new prospects for proliferation from the Middle East to East Asia, the world has been thrust into a new era of heightened nuclear risk.

Lastly, Jamie Withorne and Ian Bowers visited the Peace Research Institute, Oslo to discuss the future of Europe's relationship with Moscow in the context of the Ukraine War. In conversation with Dr. Nic Marsh and Prof. Pavel Baev, the panel outlined potential strategies for managing relationships with Russia and its ongoing war with Ukraine.
