Academic interests
Regime change, the role of incumbents in regime transitions, autocratization, economic causes and consequences of regime breakdown, mass protest, political institutions, types of autocracy and their consequences, quantitative methods, causal inference using observational data.
I am part of the projects Policies of Dictatorships (PoD) and the Emergence, Life and Demise of Autocratic Regimes (ELDAR).
