The required Faculty courses

The courses are mandatory for all PhD candidates starting in Autumn 2018 or later.

Recommended trajectories

We recommend that PhD candidates take the required Faculty courses during their first year.

 

The deadline for course registration for the mandatory Faculty component is:

  • Spring: Februrary 1
  • Autumn: September 1

If you start in autumn

Autumn semester - week 41 & 42
SV9103 Introduction to the PhD programme (mandatory activity, 0 credits)
SV9104 Research Ethics (2 credits)
SV9105 Philosophy of Social Science  - attend teaching
SV9106 Dissemination (2 credits)
Spring semester - week 9 & 10
SV9105 Philosophy of Social Science  - attend teaching and take exam (4 credits total)
SV9107 International publishing (2 credits)
In total 10 credits

 

If you start in spring

Spring semester - week 9 & 10

These courses will give you insight into what it entails to be a PhD candidate at the Faculty, provide you with necessary and cross-disciplinary knowledge of philosophy of science, research ethics and generic researcher skills.
