Academic interests
My research for the last years has revolved around the pursuit and recognition of social status and prestige in world politics. My current research is split in two. First, I am starting a project on how the EU's diplomatic corps influences the Union. Second, I explore how states become recognized as great powers. My core research competences are on foreign policy, security, war, and diplomacy.
I am experienced in a range of methods and data collection techniques such as discourse analysis, content analysis, interviews, non-participant observation, practice theory, social network analysis, process tracing, case study research, and mixed-method research
