The workshop was organized as part of the project's work-package on "Income-mediated effects: International technology diffusion, catching up and the digital divide" (WP3), and was co-ordinated by the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

About 30 researchers attended the event, and 20 new papers were presented and discussed in the various sessions.
