Sustainable Development Goals show the increasing global awareness of the problem and introduce target 12.3 for halving food waste by 2030. But achieving the target requires adequate means, tools, innovations and research.

Our new project “Building REsponsibility And Developing Innovative Strategies For Tackling Food Waste (BREAD)" tries to address these issues by bringing together research and practical expertise from TIK, Østfoldforskning, Matvett AS and Responsible Management Research Center (REMARC) at the University of Pisa.

In BREAD, researchers will focus on food waste governance, on the companies, and on business/consumer interface. The project will strive to produce both scientific output and policy briefs, country reports, and specific practical guidelines for the food sector.
