Kåkånomics: Missions or markets?
On the 27th of October, INTRANSIT participates in a discussion on "Missions or Markets" at Kåkånomics in Stavanger.
There has been much focus on mission-oriented innovation policies for solving complex societal challenges like climate change. In Norway, the discussion has centred on the state's role in mission approaches versus the role of markets.
On Wednesday, the 27th of October, researchers from INTRANSIT are participating in the discussion at "Kåkånomics" in Stavanger. Professor Lars Coenen and professor emeritus Jan Fagerberg will contribute to two events:
- From 12.15-15, they will be at the University in Stavanger for a research seminar.
- From 17-18, Lars and Jan participate in a panel debate at Sølvberget cinema.
The topic of both events are "Missions or markets?" and explore questions like: What are mission-oriented approaches? How can they help tackle grand societal challenges? What is innovation research's contribution that traditional economics overlook?
Kåkånomics is an annual "economics festival" in Stavanger. The theme for this year's festival is "Politics for a post-pandemic petroleum economy".
