The workshop participants (approx. 20 in total) were project managers for "mobilization projects" funded by the RCN's FORREGION programme. This is a nation-wide project that aims to help initiate research-driven innovation activities, especially with companies that have little or no prior experience with R&D.

Steen gave an introduction to INTRANSIT and the notions of green and smart restructuring, and the shift towards a new generation of innovation policy that emphasises coherence and consistency in policy mixes for transformative change. Among the topics discussed in the workshop was the question of how mobilization projects can contribute to regions (or county municipalities) realizing their climate strategies, or addressing other environmental challenges confronting industry in the respective regions.
