- Intra- and inter-organisational perspective on innovation: innovation activities, projects and processes
- Innovation and cognition
- Innovation under constraints
- Innovation in the oil and gas industry
- Innovation and digitalisation
My research interest revolves around understanding the intra- and inter-organisational dynamics of innovation. I am specifically interested in the role of actors and their cognition for innovation.
Empirically, innovation in the oil and gas industry is my major topic of interest. I am currently researching changes in the upstream oil and gas industry and its impact on innovation as a consequence of the industry downturn between 2014 and 2017. This is a continuation of my PhD thesis with the title “Innovation in situations of crisis: oil and gas suppliers as innovators during the 2014–2017 industry downturn”, in which I examined supplier innovation under resource constraints and threats to survival.
I am currently also engaged in research on innovation activities in the telecommunications and newspaper industry (role of digitalisation challenges for companies in and its impact on innovation) and bioeconomy (innovation activities in a nascent industry).
