Current project

My PhD project will be an ethnographic exploration of analogue and digital evaluation practice within the Norwegian evaluation community. The project will draw on theoretical and methodological resources from science and technology studies, document analysis and ethnography.

The project is part of the research project «Evaluation Optics of the Nation State: The Past, Present and Future of Public Documentation» (EVALUNATION), running from 2021 to 2024 and funded by the Research Council of Norway, with Hilde Reinertsen as primary investigator.

Academic interests

I am interested in how politics and hierarchy play out in organisations, and in how we can fruitfully study the enactments and documents of everyday working life in such organisations to learn more about our societies.

I am also broadly interested in the digital: in digital methods and digital ethnography, but also in the constitution of digital matter in the places we study and the ontological effects of digitalisation for politics and society.

I hold an ESST MA in science and technology studies and one in social anthropology, both from the University of Oslo, and a BA in journalism and philosophy from City University, London.

Before embarking on the PhD, I have worked as a web and communications professional, journalist, sub-editor, copy editor, translator, secretary, cashier and cleaning lady, all of which inform my understanding of practice.
