Dr Carrie Bradshaw appointed Visiting Fellow at the University of Oslo

Lecturer in Law Dr Carrie Bradshaw has been appointed as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Oslo’s TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture.

Her Fellowship is part of a research project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. On the appointment, the project lead Dr Julia Szulecka said:

“There is a pressing need to overcome the fragmented and scattered understanding of food waste as a grand societal challenge. Dr Bradshaw, who is conducting outstanding research on food waste law and policy and adding to the current debate on the means for achieving significant food waste reduction, has been invited to work with the new project ‘BREAD – Building REsponsibility And Developing Innovative Strategies for Tackling Food Waste’ financed by the Research Council of Norway.

“The BREAD project brings together the TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture (University of Oslo), Ostfold Research, the Norwegian company Matvett, and the Responsible Management Research Center at the University of Pisa. A group of interdisciplinary scholars and practitioners will be conducting innovative research on societal responsibility, by studying the mechanisms linking public policy and governance with companies’ practices and consumer expectations towards corporate responsibility for food waste reduction. Dr Bradshaw’s work brings a fresh perspective by looking at the legal and policy aspects of food waste regulation.

BREAD’s Oslo team are happy that Dr Bradshaw accepted the Visiting Researcher Grant and will be part of the project’s Work Package 1, focusing on the analysis of the policy and regulation context for responsible innovation in the food sector. She will work on the UK Country Report and help the team in analyzing the food waste regulatory landscape in a comparative perspective.”
