Academic interests:

I’m interested in understanding the genetic and environmental influences on anxiety, depression, and educational achievement, across development. To explore this, I combine twin and family data with new genomic tools. As part of the Neighborhood Genetics research group at PROMENTA, I’m investigating how interplay between genes and social environments, from interpersonal to regional, shapes mental health and educational trajectories.

Teaching:

PSYC2231 (Biological psychology and genetics)

Background:

  • PhD Behavioural Genetics (thesis: ‘Leveraging family data for complex trait genomics’), King’s College London (2017-2020)
  • MSc Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry, King’s College London (2016-2017)
  • Research assistant, the Department of Twin Research & Genetic Epidemiology, King's College London (2016)
  • Research assistant, the Twins Early Development Study, King’s College London (2015-2016)
  • BA Human Sciences, University of Oxford (2012-2015)

Awards:

  • Sir Kenneth Mather Memorial Prize for an outstanding performance in quantitative or population genetics, the Genetics Society, 2020
  • Thompson Award for an outstanding oral presentation, the Behavior Genetics Association, 2020
  • 1+3 King’s-ESRC Multidisciplinary PhD Studentship, 2016-2020
  • Wilma Crowther Prize for the best Human Sciences dissertation, University of Oxford, 2015
