Academic interests

  • Dr Kraft has research experience within areas such as attitude-behavior research, health and social psychology, and health education and health promotion.
  • In recent years he has been involved in design and research related to persuasive technology interventions in psychology and health. These projects include designing and evaluating digital smoking cessation and alcohol reduction interventions

Higher education and employment history

  • Dr. Kraft is Professor and Program Director for the Bachelor and Master programs in Psychology at the University of Oslo, Norway
  • He also serves as Adjunct Professor in Public Relations at Norwegian School of Management. Dr Kraft has previously held positions as professor at the University of Bergen
  • Director WHO Research Center for Health Promotion at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen
  • Research Director at the National Institute of Public Health; Director of Health Education at the National Health Screening Service
  • Research Coordinator for the National Council for Research; President of the Board of the National Council for Smoking and Health, and; as a researcher at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland
  • Dr. Kraft is trained in Psychology (Master of Health- and Social Psychology), Sociology (Master of Arts in Sociology) and Dentistry (Doctor of Dental Surgery), as well as in Management (Business Candidate)
  • He received his Ph.D.-degree in Psychology from the University of Bergen in 1991
