Academic interests

  • Social psychology

  • Social cognition

  • Intergroup relations

  • Emotions

My PhD project will focus on an emotion called kama muta, which is a Sanskrit word meaning “moved by love”. The closest translation of this emotion into English is being moved.  We will investigate underlying intergroup processes in feeling kama muta, and see if kama muta can change people’s perception of out-group members..
