Academic Interests

In my research I am primarily interested in:

  • Ideological and value changes in society

  • Ethical issues and area ethics

Together with Rolv Mikkel Blakar I organize the Oslo Ideology Project, a large-scale longitudinal research project where we investigate ideological developments within the Norwegian society across the past decades as these ideological developments are reflected in the language of the public discourse. The Oslo Ideology Project also has a comparative component where we compare ideological developments within several countries: In particular we compare developments in various societies with regard to communal values, individualism, social justice and altruism. I am connected to one of University of Oslo’s centers of excellence Center for the Study of Mind in Nature (CSMN).
