Academic interests

My interests generally focus on how lifestyle factors, physical changes, and cardiometabolic risk factors influence brain structure and mental health throughout the lifespan.

Background

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in neuroscience and brain imaging
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Cognitive Neuroscience
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Forensic Psychology
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology

Research team

My work relies on inter- and multi -disciplinary collaboration with several research groups and departments nationally and internationally.

In Oslo, Norway, I strongly collaborate with the Norwegian Centre for Mental Disorders Research group (NORMENT), the PROMENTA Research Centre at the Department of Psychology (UiO), and the Department of Psychiatric Research at Diakonhjemmet Hospital.

Internationally, collaboration is carried with various researchers and groups across the globe, reflected heavily by a motivation to address shared research questions using open datasets from the U.S (the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study and U.K (UK BioBank).

More intimately, my day-to-day involves research initiatives connected to my group - the Neurocognitive Development research group, led by Prof. Christian K. Tamnes.

Funding and collaboration

The project is funded by the South-Eastern Regional Health Authority (HSØ) and is part of “Errors in the Anxious Adolescent Brain”; a large collaborative research project between Diakonhjemmet Hospital and the University of Oslo.
