Climate change adaptations and transformation
Research on the human dimensions of climate and environmental challenges is a key area of research at ISS. Researchers in this area study how individuals, groups and communities are affected by and adapt to global environmental problems.
The research particularly focuses on the relationships between practical, political and personal change. Key concepts include vulnerability, human security, attitudes, adaptation, system change and transformation. The research aims to generate knowledge that contributes to changes towards a more equitable and sustainable society.
Collaboration across different perspectives and sectors of society are central to this research, both in Norway and internationally.
