Burying Mont Pèlerin: Milton Friedman and neoliberal vanguardism

In this article, Dr. Victor Lund Shammas draws on archival research in Stanford, California to study the origins of neoliberal ideology and its historical trajectory.


The article argues that the political theory underpinning neoliberal politics is evident in the organizational practices of one of the predominant neoliberal "thought collectives," the Mont Pèlerin Society, and it does so by closely studying the personal archives of the economist Milton Friedman.
