ESOP organised the conference "The Future of Egalitarianism" October 27 at the Nobel Peace Center. The conference marked the end of its Centre of Excellence period and the start of a new period with continued research. The main hall was filled up with people interested in hearing Dani Rodrik, Eliana La Ferrara and Kalle Moene's lectures and the following panel debate.
Welfare state arrangements work well in combination with capitalist competition, says economics professor Kalle Moene.
The Scandinavian Journal of Economics Choice for best paper in 2015 and The third Sören Wibe Prize have been awarded ESOP affiliates.
Andreas Kotsadam, senior researcher at the Frisch Centre and Affiliated researcher at ESOP and NoWeDe (UiO), has received a stipend of 150 000 NOK from P. M. Røwdes Foundation.
ESOP organises a two-day event to mark the end of its CoE-period. The research centre will no longer be part of the Norwegian Research Council's programme but continues with fresh funding.
