Methods and Ethics in Childhood Studies

Compulsory assignments: Attending lectures is compulsory (minimum 80%). Compulsory attendance in all the training workshop days.

Required previous knowledge: Master’s degree in a social science or equivalent.

Admission: Limited places.

 

Learning outcomes:

•           Students have developed in-depth knowledge on a range of participatory, child-focused methods.

•           Students have acquired advanced skills on how to design and carry out independent research with children in diverse settings and contexts.

•           Students have developed competence in ethical requirements and how to navigate new ethical dilemmas in research with children.

•           Students have learnt how to critically assess current scholarships on the social, moral, ethical and practical challenges of undertaking scientific research with children and young people.
