Simen Andreas Grinden is a master’s student at the Department of Political Science, University of Oslo. Some of his academic interests include public administration and bureaucratic structures, more specifically public commissions and government inquiries. In his master thesis Grinden focuses on Norwegian public commissions (including the ‘NOUs’), while looking at appointment procedures within the ministries and the overall member composition of such commissions. His research is part of the EUREX research project. He is supervised by Cathrine Holst (ARENA) and Jostein Askim (Dept. of Political Science).
Grinden holds a BA in Politics with IR from the University of York, United Kingdom. Throughout his time there, he among other things, worked at the University’s Centre for Applied Human Rights and participated in an exchange programme at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
