These questions are addressed in the PhD-project by assessing and discussing the knowledge base and intellectual heritage of the concept of Innovation Systems, the broader social and political context in which they are applied as analytical tool for policy analysis, and also the quantification and measurement of Innovation Systems, all with regards to their implications for innovation policy.
