About the project
The recent interest in child witnesses can partly be traced to society’s increasing concern about child abuse and partly to the outcome of certain highly publicized criminal trials where the children’s stories gradually turned into bizarre false memories as the result of inadequate child interview procedures.
The project encompasses a number of research themes, such as model studies of cognitive functions such as perception and memory, studies of the memory for traumatic everyday events, studies of the quality of Norwegian child interviews and studies of interviewing strategies.
