The cognitive information processing is divided into the sections perception, attention, memory, assessment and decision-making.

This is an interdisciplinary and methodologically broad research field with close connections to neuroscience and brain research, as well as humanities and social sciences.

The research profile of the Department of Psychology reflects this breadth through a number of major research programs in basic research, and clinical and applied research, most of which are international cooperation projects.
