Academic interests

My research focusses on personality assessment with the Rorschach method and various self-report instruments. Consulting editor of Journal of Personality Assessment.

Ongoing research:

  • Recurrent depression and the vulnerability and the scar hypotheses: A 9-year follow-up study with the Rorschach, the BDI, and the DAS

  • Faking good mental health on the Rorschach and the MMPI

  • Psychological Predictors of Military Performance: A Study of Pilot Applicants in Norway

Teaching

Higher education and employment history

  • Clinical psychologist. I was educated at the university of Oslo and graduated in 1970.

  • Have been working at the Universities of Bergen, Oslo and Tromsø and since 2001 professor in clinical psychology at the Department of Psychology, UiO

  • Since 2008 head of the clinic of psychodynamic therapy

  • Teaching cources in clinical psychology and psychotherapy

  • Supervising research: Master thesis and PhD within clinical psychology and personality assessment
