Professor Fred Lazin and associate professor Christopher Parker, two distinguished scholars on right-wing politics, will be discussing the role of contemporary far-right movements in Israel and the US.
Fred Lazin is an expert in public policy in the US, Israel and developing countries. He is a Professor and author who has taught at the Hebrew University, NYU, UCLA, GWU, Cornell, Tufts and City University of New York. His talk is entitled: "Right-wing politics and the recent election in Israel"
Christopher Parker (Ph.D., University of Chicago, 2001) is an associate professor, and Stuart A. Scheingold Professor of Social Justice and Political Science in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington. His recent book on the Tea Party has been well received. He will give a talk on the following subject: "Identifying the Roots of the Reactionary Right: The Tea Party and other right-wing movements in contemporary US politics".
